Special Events 2016

Sunday July 24, 2016 131th Anniversary Event

1:00pm at the Cemetery

Due to the success of our official 130th anniversary celebration last year, we will once again celebrate the anniversary of the founding of our cemetery on Sunday, July 24th at 1:00pm.  The ceremony will include guest speakers, hymns, and non-denominational prayers for loved ones.

A reception immediately follows the service at a local Braidwood restaurant.  Food and refreshments will be served (with a $10 donation) and we will also feature festive music and a cash bar.  For more information email the secretary@bohemiannational.org or phone 630-832-7654 x4.

JULY 26 AT THE CEMETERY

In addition, join us as we celebrate the Cemetery’s 130th anniversary this summer. Our official founding anniversary (July 24, 1885) will be recognized on Sunday July 26, 2015 at the Cemetery. We’ll host a Family Question & Answer Day from 1-4pm at the cemetery. Official cemetery historian Shirley Skuban will be on hand with her detailed records to answer questions regarding interments and general history of burials. An extra special surprise guest speaker is planned as well.

Our anniversary coincides with the Braidwood Sesquicentennial celebration going on throughout the summer.

Bring your family members, and use this time to acquaint younger generations with history and heritage.

The Board of Directors will also be on hand and are providing refreshments and a pleasant area for conversation with family and friends. This is made possible by donations from the family and friends of recently deceased board member Edward F. Vodicka.

Additional events are planned throughout the year. A social fundraiser is planned for the fall, and will serve to both raise much needed funds for the Cemetery’s reserve fund AND to allow family and friends to socialize and meet.

The Board of Directors has found that when, on occasion, loved ones happen to meet at the Cemetery, they have many common bonds and stories to share. Therefore, the Board believes it to be in the interest of and for the long-term health of the organization to get families and friends in-touch with each other.
